I was actually going to wear this to my afterprom, but time constraints (I spent too long watching Question Time and therefore had no time left over to repaint my nails) meant that I didn't use it then. I applied it the day afterwards expecting a nightmare (application wise) but I was actually pleasantly surprised!



 First, I went for this because I was looking for a good, cheap nail polish and since I'd had a good experience with 'Slate' by BeautyUK, I hoped the rest of the line would be up to scratch. I'd call it a true, neutral yellow. I have no idea why it's more eyecatching than the other yellow offerings different brands had to offer :/ Something about it that I can't put my finger on...maybe the fact that it has a *touch* more green in it?



Yeah, my nails look fabulous here. But they're fake. I wish my real nails looked this good.



Application wasn't that bad, surprisingly - the formula didn't feel thick or chalky (and believe me, just from looking at the bottle I was convinced that it'd be chalkier than a cliff in Dover) and it was fine in two coats, both the opacity and the levelness (not a word?) of the polish. Impressed!
I wore Yellow Peril again, on my (disgusting) natural nails, and it lasted with minimal chips for three days which is pretty damn decent considering the state of my nails at the moment. Peel City. Yuck.



I've noticed that they've raised the price of these recently - this cost me £1.99, as opposed to £1.79 last year. An increase of 20p isn't too excessive, though, so I'm not crying over it.

Over at Moments like Diamonds, Sara is holding a spring themed nail art contest. Prizes include a seriously pretty Nicole by OPI polish. It looks like metal in the bottle - so cool.

Bundle Monster are currently holding a nail art competition on their Facebook page. There will be twenty five winners who will each recieve a set of their new stamping plates. I was planning on entering, but I'm not really sure of the design I'm planning to do...I did this, but now I want to go more of a gothic route (and take out the sweets, of course) perhaps utilise more black. I'm personally looking at the baked eyeshadows and blushers, maybe at the lipsticks if they have anything I could wear to school. Glad that they gave me time to get some cash together, I have lots of things that I want to purchase.

Sleek have finally made good on their promise (six months later) and have been distributing the 50% off codes. WOOT. I recieved mine a couple of days ago and decided that since they did eventually do what they said they would, I'd give the brand another chance. So I spent all the money I'd saved up for circle lenses...on Sleek products. *facepalm*. Oh, and then some. Total came to like £63, sans discount, and I didn't even get everything I wanted as I had to cut down somewhat and then the website didn't have some things in stock. Like the Perfect Plum Pout Polish. ARGH. I wanted that colour so badly. *sniff*. I neeeeed it.
That and concealer in my shade and some lipsticks I wanted. Not to mention the distinct lack of online/accurate swatches for many of the products that I wanted but couldn't buy in store. Urgh. Some of you guys might remember this post, in which I reviewed BeautyUK's Metallic Eye Sparks and claimed it was the full range. Well, the replacements for my broken sparks arrived not too long ago (kindly sent by the lovely people at BeautyUK, who were very VERY generous - you'll see in a little while!) and I realised that there was actually a sixth colour in the range, a bronze shade.

*sits with egg on face*

...yeah. Naturally, I had to reswatch all of them and add the bronze one into the collection! Otherwise, it'd feel lonely. Below I've got some words from my original review.
I really have to purchase some more BeautyUK products past the nail polishes and the eye pencils. I've got my eye on their bright eyeshadow palette.

I love this bronze shade, it's a great highlighter on black girls like myself and looks way less harsh than white near the eye. BeautyUK seem to think of everyone with their products, which is nice.

These are easy to sharpen with the correct sharpener. I’ve sharpened the silver since it’s last outing. It now works well but the formulation is a lot softer than the other four colours – it’s easy to apply too much. Shame, because it looks really good on the eyelid.

So creamy! Wonder what my teachers would think if I submitted my coursework written in gold eye pencil...

I bought the silver one and the purple one in my most recent haul. I've already complained about the shoddy packaging (linked). There are four colours in the range (the other two colours are an olive green and a gold, which I think I'll pick up later if they're still on promotion)




These are chunky eye pencils which feel nice and satisfying to use. They can be worn for a hint of colour along the lashline, but I mostly use these as bases for matte eyeshadows. Lasting power is pretty decent - it doesn't crease throughout my six, sometimes seven hour days at school, and tends to fade in the evening rather than crease. I do find it hard to apply normal (pencil) eyeliner if I've gone a bit heavy on my application of this product, though. I don't know why that is :P Worn alone, these crease pretty quickly. Two hours, maybe? On me, at least.


I think the purple is my favourite, colour and application wise. Both of them work well under matte or almost matte shades that need something to adhere to, and do make shadows appear slightly more vibrant.
The only problem is, I don't think I possess a sharpener large enough to sharpen them :P



Sadly, it's not all good news. When I went to use the silver one for the second time, this happened:



I wasn't impressed either. At full price, these are £2.50, which is around the price of a single NYX Jumbo pencil when bought from most UK eBay sellers. These come in quite a limited range of shades, though, and I don't like my products breaking on their second use. I haven't personally tried any NYX products so I can't compare their longevity, but for now these are probably the closest affordable drugstore option the UK has got.

EDIT - There are five colours in the range. Fail on my part :P

 Yeah, I did another set lol. Only I did these before Halloween but posted them after like the uncool person I am. And my photo taking sucked as well because these were on my right hand and it's incredibly awkward for me to take photos of that hand without having the aforementioned hand turn into a creepy claw like appendage.

Note - students, be wary of people offering you sweets. One of my friends offered me one today and I ate it and then threw it at him because he'd painted it with that Stop N Grow stuff some people put to stop themselves biting their nails. VILE. And my aim sucks so it only bounced of his jumper. Someone else that he did it to managed to get him in the head with it, and he said it hurt, though, which I found incredibly funny. So yeah. Beware, I telleth thee.

Before you see the pictures, I apologise for the lack of cleanup - I just /knew/ I'd be told to take it off at school so painted it the night before and quickly snapped it before I went to school.

So it's my alltime favourite hot pink (I only have two, but let's overlook that little fact, shall we) over BeautyUK's "Slate". I've always wanted to do a pink and grey look and will probably repeat this one at some point, but neatly.

There's a bit of bonus Konading for you on the middle finger. It's the Miss Sporty brand but I don't think they name their polishes, so it's just the black polish with the blue lid lol.

It needs improvement, but what do you guys think about the colour combination?

 This is two MUA polishes (the blue one and the purple one, I've forgotten the numbers - Superdrug, take heed and name your products properly!) over the grey BeautyUK polish.
It didn't come out as nicely as I hoped it would :( Looks all nasty and lumpy. Ah well. Anyone got any tips for making a marple work?

 And this set me back a whopping £1.79 /sarcasm.
 This is the first grey colour I owned. I figured that because we had Enterprise Day on Tuesday (I bought this on Saturday) and we had to wear "smart" work clothes to school, I might as well go the whole way and get an office-appropriate nail polish.
 This was two coats. It's pretty cool, nice and squishy. You can't really get away with one coat as it's overly runny, but two is fine.
 Fairly easy to apply and looks pretty good, I'd say!
I haven't tried out any other polishes from this brand but I'm going to have to now. Superdrug were doing a "Buy three for £5" offer which I'm going to take up next time I'm there as they have a really nice, wide colour range and if the rest of them have this sort of quality, I'm not complaining! A +, Beauty UK. Great nail polish.
