Schedueled post!
I thought I'd have a quick play with some Sellotape and came up with this manicure.
It uses ASOS Paints - Alexa (dark blue) and ASOS Paints - Olivia (orange).

Naturally, when you're trying to convince the teachers that you've terrorised for five years to allow you a place in their sixth form, you try to make the best impression. Hence I went for this French manicure with a twist.

I made the dots with my recently purchased dotting tool that came in the fifteen piece nail art brush set. I like it, but it's a bit small for me.
Some of the dots are really unevenly sized compared to the others, lol. I still need to get the hang of using a dotting tool.

French manicure, pure and simple. My form tutor has explicately OK'D this particular brand of nail polish. It's officially legal. Woot, I guess. What a shame it's so dull.

 I hope you can see the rhinestones I stuck on the thumb to jazz it up a bit. I covered it with a thick layer of Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri (it's coming nearer and nearer to the end of the bottle so it's now quite gloopy and picks up colour from my other manicures) so that they would be less likely to fall off. Worked, for the most part.
 The ring finger looks the neatest. Apologies for the streak of green on the index finger - the topcoat picked up some colour from a previous manicure which I didn't realise until I topcoated this manicure. Fail.
I wore this for like two days before I craved colour, lol. It's half term now anyway.

What are your opinions on the classic french manicure? Like? Dislike? Don't care?

 I did this on Thursday, because for year eleven they've changed the assembly times. Now, assembly for us is on a Thursday and a Friday, and Guardian Angels is on a Wednesday. Coupled with violin lessons in the early morning on Tuesday, this means I should be able to hide from my form tutor for four days out of every week.
 Theoretically.
 (I hate how the navy isn't showing up in the photos. It looks like black but I trust you, it /is/ blue and looked slightly more cool in real life)
In practice I have to stay out of his way up until precisely 8:30 every morning otherwise he hunts me down and asks to see my nails. *rage*

Ignore the rant. This is Barry M's Nail Paint in Raspberry (I'm well over half into the bottle now, scary!) and the navy was from the set of nail art pens. It's a pretty good navy actually, just the right amount of runny.

Oh, and the first of October was Nigerian Independance Day! Just thought I'd share :P I can't believe time is going so quickly!

Yes. MOAWR alternative frenches. I really couldn't tell you why they fascinate me so much :P
This is Barry M's Spring Green and just a clear nail polish (MUA) over the top of it this time. Pretty simple to do and quick drying. Only problem is, Spring Green is surprisingly jelly-like which kinda ruins the fun when you can see my nail line underneath. I could put a coat of white underneath first but that's soooo much effort *endlaziness*
I think my right hand looked better than this one but I suck at taking pictures of it :(

Recently, I've been kind of neglecting school appropriate looks - the teachers have been kinda lax in the weeks leading up to SUMMER (woot) and so I've been getting away with the most outrageous eye makeup and nail polish. Orsums. But recently, I yearned for a return to simpler times. Behold, my (sort of) school appropriate design:
If you reduce the amount of pink french tip you can get away with it, I think. I used Nails Inc Sloane Mews to even out any discolouration in my nails and also buffed them with this buffer I got for £1 from Wilkinsons (the Image range). It's surprisingly good...don't know how long it'll last, but for a pound it's alright.
To create a smile line I used a cotton bud dipped - no, soaked - in nail polish remover and basically rubbed it on the excess varnish to make it pretty. Then, I simply put the Sloane Mews polish over it (it's very sheer so I was quite confident it wouldn't stain my nails any more than they were) and yeah, you're good to go.

Isn't it typical? Be draconian on nails = outrageous polish and nail art. Be lax as anyone's business = suddenly, school appropriate again. Ah well. Schools out now anyway so I can do whatever. I. like. That's right.
