MUA Nail Polish Shade Thirteen, Exams may kill me before next Thursday, just a heads up.

I had English, Music and Technology exams today. ARGH. They be takin' up all my free time revising and shizz. I had like nothing but exams today. And to make matters worse, douchebag PE teacher thought it'd be funny to stop me in the corridor (on my way to the next exam) to ask how the first exam went. Anyway.

Awesome polish. Awesome colour. My science teacher (I have two, a man and a woman. The woman is the most AWESOME science teacher you will ever meet. She is GOLD. Yeah, anyway.) said it was pretty :D
Rare picture with flash.
Anyway, the only problem I have with this polish is that it forms bubbles, even more than the MUA polish in Shade Three. I can't think as to why this would be...base coat? Not enough time to dry?
I don't usually wear foily/frosty colours like this - more of a creme girl. But I do love the polish. This concludes my MUA polish series, so far, until my next trip to Superdrugs :P I think, for a debut line, they've chosen some stunning colours. Superdrug get 9 out of 10 for effort. If only the labels weren't stickers...

Also - Jan, I've posted your item, and I have the reciept if you'd like to see it! I hope you get it soon.

Ode to Poundland

Poundland. Softening the hit makeup hauling inflicts on your wallet since 2010. Everything you see pictured cost me a pound. Course, it's not all from Poundland. But still.

The only things not from Poundland is the Rimmel Nail Growth thing, and the MUA eyeshadow.
I got the pressed powder in "Medium". I'd assumed that it'd all be too light, as, let's face it, a lot of makeup is not designed for darker skin tones in this country.

Cute design :P
Before being blended out. It matches surprisingly well, considering there are only two shades to choose from. I liked the texture. All in all, not bad. Poundland's new makeup line is actually pretty good. Wish I'd got the foundation and concealer now :P
This is the MUA eyeshadow.
Good pigmentation and pretty colours :D
TJ Hughes had this lurking about their bargain section. A pound. Niiiiiice.
The poundland nail varnish in "Green Green Grass". I wonder how this will wear. I do not want another Wilkinsons' incident to occour :P

EDIT: Only seven days left until my giveaway ends! Don't forget to enter, guys :D

Psychadelic Zebra

That's what I'm talking about.

Barry M Spring Green

Yey! I like this polish :P

In real life, it's almost neon. Application was alright, better than purple I guess. Long drying time though, but that's because I'm quite impatient.
Suits better if you have a tan. In the photos, it looks similar to OPI's Jade Is The New Black, but it's less bluey than it appears.

Love,

September Lena :)

Don't forget to enter the giveaway!

UNBANNED

Yeah, you heard that right. I have internet access again, oh yeah, wooot.
So. This is the pleasantly green creation I have made from that hideously yucky yellow colour I had.  You guys wanted me to show the result to you, so here it is!
I did make a camouflage nail art design out of it (as I was going paintballing for a friend's birthday party) but I didn't take a picture :( next time eh?

It dries really quickly, which is always a plus, and has some sparklly shimmer in it.

I've missed you guys :)

Love,

September Lena

Green Franken

Another one that I hadn't had a chance to swatch.
I've got more frankens coming up! Sorry for the short post.

Looks like someone sneezed all over my toes.

Ahaha. Aren't you sick of my frankens yet?

I used the empty bottle of lilac nail polish that I used in my very first post (ah, the memories!) and filled it with the Wilkinson's blue (that is really starting to annoy me as it chips so easily, so I'm trying to use it up) and some of a metallic yellow nail art pen that leaks everywhere. Sigh. Added some gold glitter into the mix and some of the Boots confetti blackcurranty nail polish that I reviewed yesterday. Stir it all up and you have....

...an explosion in a bogey factory :P I will name thee, "Frankenstein". It's a very murky green, not really what I was going for at all but still an interestingly unique colour. I was aiming for this:
Image from Dr Frankenpolish. But yeah. Swatches:
You see my legwarmers?

Look! My fingers match my legwarmers! Just thought I'd share.
What do you guys think then?

Oh, and also I was going to quickly compare the two moisterisers that I use, Palmer's Cocoa Butter and Dove.
I love the smell of Palmer's so use it on my face, as it's not greasy at all and makes my face look great.
But I use the Dove over my body as it gives it a noticeable shine and feels really moisterising. Which is great, especially if you're wearing a skirt in summer and you want your legs to look their best, but on your face it can look a little odd.
What beauty products are you guys into? xxx.

Another haul? Yeah baby!

Oh wow. So today, (Good Friday) I went to Superdrug, which is a good relatively cheap UK drugstore, similar to Boots (and it's basically the HOME of Barry M, haha). I wanted to get some new polish colours and I knew exactly what I had in mind - Barry M. Headed straight for the cosmetics aisle and scoured the shelves...there it was! All sorts of Barry M goodness. However, the polishes were £2.95 and Miss Sporty were doing a sale on their own colours - (three for two) so instead of getting the Barry M yellow, I bought the Miss Sporty yellow (they looked fairly similar, not dupes but close) and got Barry M Mint Green instead. I was in polish heaven :P The choice was truly mind boggling - there was almost every nail paint there apart from the very new Ice Cream ones for summer! Even the glitters were there! Also, there was all sorts of Rimmel, Maybelline and GOSH. I did look interestedly at the GOSH having seen it featured in some other nail polish blogs - a gorgeous holo silver - but quickly backed away when I saw it was £5. Wtf? I'm a student! Why pay £5 for a limited range of colours when I could get two or even three nice ones for that type of money?

The Miss Sporty brands that I chose were mostly unamed, which was very annoying. There was a bright, acid yellow from the "Clubbing Colours" line - it was pretty vivid, I could see that showing up in a nightclub - and I chose a black and a silver from the "metal shine" line.
They look so pretty all lined up!

The Miss Sporty brands claim to dry in 60 seconds. I'll have to test that claim.
The black claims to last for up to 7 days. For a cheap nail polish that's really quite good but again, I'll have to see for myself.
 My gorgeous Barry M :)
I have waited so long to own thee.

I've had bad experiences with the Miss Sporty Black in the past - one completely thickened up beyond belief and seized manically after about three years or so. I had to throw the whole bottle away. Still, they've changed the bottle design since then and if the formula has changed to allow it to stay on for 7 days...there's hope. I think it feels better knowing that your colours were cheapass. Bye for now.

Friday Time :)

Hello again! Well today is a Friday, so I went all out on my nails. Feeling adventurous, I did three different shades of blue on my left hand (they are a little hard to see in the photo, but they are there :L) and on my middle finger and my thumb, I did an abstract design with loads of colours. On the left, I did purple and green glitters. Pictures here:

My form tutor noticed them, but as there were only ten minutes left before we went home, he said they looked very pretty but they should be off by Monday.
They'll be off by Monday but I'll have probably replaced them by then...haha :) Thank goodness it's Friday! While I think school is alright I just felt really tired pretty much all this week. And I have a science module test on Wednesday...
