My vaguely metal inspired attempt at layering stamps manicure, for your viewing horror pleasure:
I do think it looked more passable in real life. Macro exposes the hideous uneveness of the white "cog" stamps. They're jumping around all over my nails!
The title has a little double meaning, actually. Why didn't any of you nice, grown up bloggers tell me that GCSEs were so heniously coursework filled? It's so haaaard. *selfish whine*
Any fellow Year Eleven students out there care to comiserate?
I'm also saddened to hear that some of my favourite bloggers are having troubles, as well. I've posted before about The Gloss Goss and also Scandalously Polished is going on hiatus, which is a big shame. I can totally understand why Ange is doing it, I just feel bad that some people have pushed her to that. Which reminds me, I still haven't announced the winner of my Bella Sugar giveaway. I'll get on it, promise.
What's up with this world lately? Those two aren't the only ones, I'm thinking of more who have been recieving nasty commnents, abuse and the like and who have gone on hiatus because of it but they're less beauty and more alternative Japanese fashions so I thought there was no point mentioning them :/ I'm glad I have a lovely group of followers who comment on my mindless keymash. <3 Thanks guys!

Officially Legal!
Er. That's sounds slightly wrong.
Anyway a few days ago it was my birthday! I'm officially sixteen and can do all those things that I've been doing since I was thirteen!
Moving on...I got some nice makeup-related items to celebrate.
It comes with ribbon, too!I also got some Bundle Monster plates from my parents! I've been wanting these for a while. I'm going to do a fuller, indepth review/tutorial later on, but I thought I'd quickly cover my feelings here. You do get an awful lot of designs for the price, which is great. But the edges /will/ cut your hands to shreds and I find on at least two of the plates the designs are too shallow as to show up effectively, which kind of negates the point. Plus they're incredibly difficult to clean effectively. While I'm not putting my plates up for display, I'm always worried that say, some of the pink nail polish I used previously will ruin the design of the next thing I am planning to stamp...
Oh, and perhaps this is the polish I use, but I haven't had this problem with any other brand of plate - the design often doesn't transfer correctly to the nail and pulls, stretches, or comes off altogether, which is obviously a huge pain in the bum. I'm trying to work out how to rectify this problem - and yes, I've removed the plastic!
Can't wait to try this mascara out, but it'll probably be a looong time because I've got two others to get through before I tackle this one. Mini rant - why are drugstore mascaras so expensive these days? There's usually only a couple of pounds in it between those and the high end ones...

Konading
So I'm making do with the three non french tip Konad plates that I own and I used the Miss Sporty Yellow to Konad these.
I generally Konad on top of newspaper. I really love doing it, it's so quick and easy and then everyone assumes you've got a tiny little easel and a magnifying glass to be able to paint those designs on your fingers. White lies FTW.
How many plates do you guys own?

Frankens and Konad!
My school's production of Les Mis ended a week ago and since I was involved (playing the violin in the orchestra, it was great fun!) I went to the afterparty at the boy who plays Marius's house yesterday :P Was great fun, but this is how my nails looked like:
That was the design on my right hand. See, as I was getting ready for the party I frankened this polish out of an old eyeshadow:
Yeah, I love it too. Reminds me of chocolate :D So I Konaded over the top of it with a baby pink Nails Inc. polish.
On the left hand, I painted the nails the same Nails Inc. baby pink colour, but simply Konaded over it with this brown polish like so:
The rose on the index finger went slightly wrong, so I stuck a couple of Fimo shapes over it.
All in all, I'm quite pleased with the effect! I got quite a few compliments - well, before everyone got too drunk to care, haha. Anyway, what do you think about my first franken attempt?

Gotta love Hong Kong
Goodies! I have loads of new stuff off eBay which took ages to arrive (fair enough, seeing as it's from Hong Kong) but is well worth the wait! First off, a lovely set of five Konad plates. Two are French Manicure ones which are slightly tricky to line up but look great, and the other three are a mixture of flower designs, Chinese characters and the greatest HELLO KITTY plate – yeah baby :P I also have a pink plastic stamper and scraper.
Next, I have a set of twenty five Fimo nail art canes. There are three flower canes in purple, yellow and pink, but the rest are different fruit shapes such as watermelon, apple, bananna, strawberry…list goes on. Good buys seeing as I got the whole lot for much less than seven quid. Expect to have your eyes assaulted by my nail art :P
